Supreme Court court upholds legality of Act

The UK Supreme Court today declared the Damages (Asbestos-related Conditions)(Scotland) Act 2009 to be within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament.

The 2009 Act allows compensation claims to be made in Scotland in respect of the asbestos-related condition of pleural plaques.
