Catherine Grant - Official Reporter

“Working three days a week in the Parliament enables me to experience the whole range of parliamentary business while giving me the time and space to pursue outside interests and take care of an elderly relative. My week starts on Tuesday morning, when I can usually be found attending meetings of the Health and Sport Committee, and ends on Thursday afternoon, which is usually spent listening to and reporting the debates in the chamber. It’s busy, but there can’t be many part-time jobs that give you a ringside seat when history is being made—I was in the chamber for the debate on equal marriage, when members made powerful and moving speeches about their personal experience of discrimination.”
